Den Doelder Pallets has its origin in 1938. The great-grandfather of current owner Christian den Doelder bought a sawmill in Axel. Ten years later, his son Marinus took over the company. Not much later Den Doelder Pallets B.V. moved to the current location at the Langeweg in Axel. Many development took place since then. The company is currently managed by the fourth generation: Christian den Doelder.

Ten years later, his son Marinus takes over the company. The sawmill moved to its current location at the Langeweg in Axel. The sawmill is also being modernized and has become an important player on the Dutch and Belgian market under the name M. Den Doelder BV.
The first production of pallets started in 1965. The reason for this was the settling of the chemical industry in Zeeuws Vlaanderen. The pallet activities took place in collaboration with Koninklijke Houthandel William Pont in Zaandam (Pont), under the name DAX B.V. At that time, the clientele consisted mainly of companies from the chemical and food sector in the Netherlands and Belgium.

were sold to "Pont".
The entire company was bought back in 1985 from "Pont" by Jan Den Doelder, the son of Marinus den Doelder and the third generation in the company.
After the takeover by Jan den Doelder, the modernization of the sawmill and the pallet factory started.
Due to the emergence of the Baltic States as producing countries of
cheap pallet wood, it was decided in 2006 to dismantle the sawmill.
The sawmill's machines were sold and the focus shifted to the
production of pallets. The changed strategy also led to a
new company name: Den Doelder Pallets B.V .
A second production location was opened on industrial estate the Axelse Vlakte. At this location mainly special packaging products were manufactured. In addition, repair and recycling activities also took place.
In 2009 the fourth generation started in the company:
Christian den Doelder, son of Jan den Doelder.
Christian den Doelder, after having gone through all aspects of the company, took over the company from Jan den Doelder after nine years. At the same time, major investments have been made in an ultramodern production line. The company increasingly focuses on unburdening the customer through customization and thinking along in the chain. In addition, the company focuses on the future by using sustainable and environmentally friendly materials.
Not only our processes are environmentally conscious, our locations too. Den Doelder is 100% energy neutral with biomass and solar panels. We work on energy recovery by using 100% of our wood for this. The residual heat is used for the production processes and heating of the shed. With its CO2 neutral, energy neutral and 100% circular process, Den Doelder is a leader in the industry with full circularity. And that is something that we are very proud of.
